4) Basking in materialistic consupmtion
5) The hypnotic and entertaining power of televsion
7) The dumbing down through "education"
8) The failure to develop analytical thinking
Hermann Goering, Hitler's Reich Marshall said at the Nuremburg trials: "Naturally
the common people don't want war, but after all, it is the leaders of a country
that determine the policy. It's always a simple matter to drag people along
whether its a democracy, a fascist dictatorship, a parliament or a communist
regime. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to do the bidding
of their leaders. This is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being
threatened with an attack, then denounce the pacifist for lack of patriotism
and exposing the country to danger. This works the same in any country."
