Poverty has always been the critical component to create extreme wealth. It does
not occur by accident. Poverty keeps labor cheap. Slave labor is just imposed
poverty.
'Free Trade' and 'Globalization are the alternatives to slave labor. By moving
factories from one poor country to another and pitting them against each other,
the very wealthy are getting labor that is cheaper than slave labor because there
is no overhead for the labor.
Maintaining widespread poverty doesn't take any effort. In fact, it requires
only that very little effort is made. Eliminating or reducing poverty creates
economic opportunity for a wider group of people which puts pressure on wages
and reduces profits for the very wealthy. To eliminate or greatly reduce poverty,
you have to stop the people in power from exploiting the labor for extreme wealth.
