Dr. Curtis Doebbler, well-respected human rights lawyer and law professor, can't get American media to tell the truth about the legal farce going on in Bagdhad. He claims proceedings against the former Iraqi dictator have no merit since initial invasion violated international law. He also says Hussein's court appointed Iraqi attorney has been harrassed and had legal papers stolen by American authorities.

The disgusting and biased American press has again let down the people, distorting facts and slanting story lines, reminiscent of a state-controlled media like existed in Nazi Germany.

FOX agents, disguised as reporters, but actually owing allegiance to the Pentagon and the U.S. and Iraqi governments are crawling on land like vipers, infecting airwaves with neo-con propaganda better described as outright lies.

No better example exists than the recent slanted reporting by FOX, another garbage media outlet called The Weekly Standard and all other big city dailies, including the New York Times, regarding the events surrounding the upcoming kangaroo court proceedings in the Saddam Hussein case.

The rule of law means absolutely nothing to these journalistic propagandists and to Your Majesty President Bush, or as he is better known as “Your Stupidity,” as he flaunts international justice with the illegal invasion of Iraq as well as his utterly absurd legal handling of the Hussein case.

And just as the rule of law means nothing to “Your Stupidity” and his appointed underlings, it carries little weight with the American press who continues on a daily basis to perpetuate the lies and injustices of a neo-con administration gone mad with power.

But fortunate for the few remaining fair-minded Americans intent on ousting “Your Stupidity” from his royal thrown and preventing millions more from dying worldwide from Nazi-like U.S. aggression, comes forward a distinguished and well-respected international human rights attorney and professor, Dr. Curtis Doebbler, to once and for all set the legal record straight.

Although he has attempted to do so countless times before, the unscrupulous lying dogs parading as journalists, in the case of FOX and The Weekly Standard, purposely slanted recent interviews with Dr. Doebbler, making it appear as if justice was being carried out and the rule of law followed to the letter in the Hussein case.

But nothing is farther from the truth, according to Dr. Doebbler, in a case that defies all legal principles and, from day one, simply has made no sense and a mockery out of international law. And what is even more troubling is that when Dr. Doebbler told his story in the neo-con party line media outlets, many of his statements were intentionally left out or misinterpreted to give the sense Hussein’s defense attorneys were actually being given a fair shot at representing their client.

But as absurd as the American’s government’s untenable legal position remains in the initial Iraqi invasion, so it is equally absurd when it comes to inept news reports about justice in Baghdad.

Not only did the FOX and The Weekly Standard slant the stories about Hussein’s trial to suit “Your Stupidity’s” party line but these morally deficient government agents carrying press cards have little desire to tell the truth about a host of matters but, more importantly, about two very crucial issues surrounding the case, which conclusively demonstrates a whiskey filled, cowboy Texas courtroom would be far more appropriate then what’s actually going on in Baghdad.

“The first thing I have to clear up from what the press has reported is that neither I or Ramsey Clarke (former U.S. Attorney General) are really representing or truly can be called Saddam Hussein’s attorneys,” said Dr. Doebbler in a telephone conversation this week from New York, citing Article 14 of the International Covenant of Civil and Political Rights as precedent, a document “Your Stupidity” has never read or doesn’t even know exists since law and its concepts are completely foreign to our President’s feeble mind.

Dr. Doebbler points out that Article 14, a longstanding recognized international law rule, mandates a defendant be given a right to a lawyer and the lawyer, in turn, be given adequate facilities to prepare a defense. And since Dr. Doebbler and Clarke have been given little, if any time, to even see or visit with their client, Dr. Doebbler insists he cannot be termed or even called the attorney representing Hussein.

“We are willing to represent Mr. Hussein. Mr. Clarke and I have a signed power of representation from him,” said Dr. Doebbler. “But if you do not have access to your client, I would rather have my little sister represent me. And what is really ridiculous is that the news publications covering this story always start out by saying numerous lawyers are representing him, but this is totally wrong Totally wrong!”

Besides setting the record straight as to Article 14 violations, Dr. Doebbler believes the announced government trial should not go forward since the tribunal itself does not meet international law standards of impartiality and fairness.

“The court set up in Baghdad is not only biased, but it is incompetent and totally lacking any type of legal credibility normally associated with international cases,” said Dr. Doebbler. “As lawyers we hope the rule of law will be respected and thus far this is not the case.

“It is my belief that the tribunal is illegal in the first place. There is an overwhelming number of jurists and statesmen around the world, bound by international law, who openly recognize the invasion of Iraq as a preemptive strike and in violation of all sound principles of international law. And, it’s important to note, that one cannot create legal rights out of an illegal act, meaning what’s going in the Hussein trial has no legal merit to being with.”

Another important fact about the Hussein trial never reported and ignored by the American press concerns the illegal treatment and harassment of the only so-called Iraqi court appointed attorney assigned officially by an illegal tribunal to supposedly represent Hussein.

Kalel al Dolami, an Iraqi lawyer assigned to the Hussein case as the initial legal contact in Baghdad, never has been allowed to visit with his client privately. But what’s more shocking is that al Dolami has accused U.S. operatives of outright harassment, including break-ins at his Baghdad home and destruction and theft of legal documents related to the Hussein case.

Although Dr. Doebbler and al Dolami have tried to bring these violations to the attention of the press and authorities, they have never surfaced in the American media and never even been investigated thoroughly, with an eye towards justice, by police authorities.

“They have attacked his house and stolen his legal papers, but it’s never surfaced in the American press,” said Dr. Doebbler.

With all the injustices and blatant violations of law, including crimes against al Dalami, Dr. Doebbler still holds out hope justice will be served even though the chances look slim.

“As a lawyer, I can’t make predictions about what is going to happen in a case, but I will not abandon the principles of law or the possibility that justice will one day be served,” said Dr. Doebbler.

Dr. Doebbler has acted all over the world as an expert consultant and teacher in the field of international human rights law and is currently working in the Midle East as a law professor.

His clients have included an estimated two million internally displaced persons in the Khartoum State, approximately 3,500 Ethiopian refugees in the Sudan, dozens of political activists in the Sudan, the democratic Republic of the Congo, Peru, Afghanistan as well as hundreds of other clients from countries too numerous to mention.
