It is curious how “unidentified” or “previously unknown” terrorist groups kidnap American journalists and Quaker peaceniks and then make impossible demands. Jill Carroll, a Christian Science Monitor journalist, was kidnapped as she left the office of Adnan al-Dulaimi, a Sunni politician and Secretary-General of the Iraqi People’s Conference. It should be noted that the Iraqi People’s Conference, as part of the al-Tawafuk Front, has called for the abrogation of the Iraqi “elections” because they consider the American stage managed plan a “conspiratorial project,” an obvious set-up for the Shia to control Iraqi politics. “Sunni leader Saleh al-Mutlaq… warned against the eruption of a civil war if the Shiite parties monopolize the authority, noting that he has evidence that a great deal of fraud took place in the elections,” the Arab News reported last December. Several days later, Carroll was abducted as she went to interview al-Dulaimi.

“This act has hurt me and makes me sad because the journalist was trying to meet me when she was kidnapped. After she left my office because she was unable to meet me, she was kidnapped 300 meters from my office,” al-Dulaimi said on January 20, two days after a video of Carroll appeared on al-Jazeera (the silent video was delivered with an accompanying message demanding all female Iraqi prisoners be released, a demand the United States will never accede to in a month of Sundays). “We are against violence by any group, and we call the government and U.S. forces to stop raiding houses, arresting women. I call upon the kidnappers to immediately release this reporter who came here to cover Iraq’s news and defending our rights,” a demand that will of course be ignored since kidnapping Iraqis, including women and children, throwing them in torture and rape gulags, is how the United States does business in Iraq. It is the height of absurdity to believe they will stop in order to save the life of a journalist, especially a journalist who talks with the Sunnis, who of course are to be marginalized in an ethnically divided Iraq (after a bloody civil war now brewing) and locked in their own Bantustan in and around Baghdad, impoverished and abused, as are the Palestinians by the Israelis (in fact, the United States has adopted the Israeli template for dealing harshly with recalcitrant Sunni Arabs).

Considering the fact bona fide resistance groups realize abducting journalists and Quaker peaceniks is seriously counterproductive, we can conclude Jill Carroll was kidnapped by a black op pseudo-gang run out of the Pentagon. As an example of how sincere resistance groups operate, consider the tactics of Hamas and Hezbollah—both resistance groups kidnap Israeli soldiers “as bargaining chips” and rarely take civilians captive (although an Israeli businessman, Elhanan Tannenbaum, was abducted in October 2000). In January, 2004, “Israel released more than 400 prisoners, the vast majority Palestinians, in exchange for an Israeli businessman and the bodies of three Israeli soldiers,” according to the Associated Press. In Lebanon, Hezbollah occasionally kidnaps and executes Israeli soldiers, actions disapproved by the United Nations and the international community (it should be noted that Israel’s theft of Lebanese and Syrian land is also disapproved by the United Nations and the international community).

Obviously, we are expected to believe the Iraqi resistance, under the guise of never heard of before terrorist groups, is unable to learn tactical lessons from the Palestinians and Lebanese. Instead, we are to believe, with the complicity of the corporate media, that the resistance consists of “terrorists” and blood-thirsty Arabs and crazed Muslims interested in killing as many innocent people as possible (a stereotype based on the mythical creation of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi).

It should be clear what is going on here—fake terrorist groups, long ago trail blazed by British General Frank Kitson, and used effectively in Kenya, Rhodesia, and Northern Ireland, are operating in Iraq to discredit the legitimate resistance, engaged in entirely legitimate paramilitary operations against U.S. troops.

As well, the timing of the shadowy terrorist group’s proclamation that they will execute Carroll is fishy—it comes precisely as Muslims, outraged by the Straussian neocon engineered cartoon fiasco, are grabbing headlines as they burn embassies and riot across the Muslim world. All of this is engineered to convince western societies in America and Europe that Muslims are crazed, irrational, and murderous, and we must unite to fight them before they invade us, determined to either convert or slaughter us in numbers. Unfortunately, the murder of Jill Carroll, as the murder of the CARE International aid worker Margaret Hassan, will buttress the Straussian neocon message that we have no choice but to start “world war four” against the Islamic world, a conflict promised to last a hundred years or more, and consume what remains of our treasure and damage and decimate generations of young to come.
