Why is it that news of these crimes simply will not abate?

How many more crimes will the US military stand accused of?

An AP reporter revealed that US seizure of Iraqi women to blackmail Iraqi male suspects had been used in Iraq.

"In one case, a secretive task force locked up the young mother of a nursing baby, a U.S. intelligence officer reported. In the case of a second detainee, one American colonel suggested to another that they catch her husband by tacking a note to the family's door telling him "to come get his wife.""

So, here's the big question. Who started the spate of kidnappings in post-Saddam Iraq?

The reporter cites email memos which indicated undisclosed numbers of Iraqi women detained. Click here for the military memos.

But is this news to us Iraqis? Is it news to the handful of us who protested and complained only to be called liars by the good ol red-white-and-blue?

We were called Saddamists, or some other asinine label.

And did not some, like Seymour Hersh, say they had seen video of Iraqi children raped, documents attesting to such?

And ask yourselves this: Would we have heard about these stories had Jill Carroll not been kidnapped? I by no means condone her kidnapping. In fact, I reiterate that it is morally reprehensible, ideologically warped, and a crime against an innocent.

But why did it take the kidnapping of a young and pretty American to lift the lid on the dozens of kidnappings of Iraqi women and girls by US soldiers in the past 2 plus years?

"The Taguba report confirms that some women were indeed raped by American G.I.'s. There is one photo of an American soldier having sex with an Iraqi woman. And there is the by now infamous story of how American soldiers harnessed a 70-year-old woman and rode her around, calling her a donkey."

And more: Although the Taguba report makes specific reference to the abuse of female Iraqi prisoners, the Bush administration has refused to release photos of Iraqi women forced at gunpoint to bare their breasts—no doubt to spare Bush, Cheney, and Rumsfeld further embarrassment.

But even if these pictures came out, will there be an outcry. No. Why? Because Bush is a White Christian. An emissary of God. His word is gospel.

And these women were Iraqi. Translation: They aren't worthy of pity, let alone compassion.

"We're sorry," say some emails. "We don't like what our government has done," say others.

Then act! You sought impeachment of Clinton for a stupid blowjob he lied about. And yet you let the murderous cabal continue to wage war after every statement they made turned out to be a lie.

Update: Thankfully, it seems some American's are disturbed by this news. MSNBC is running a live poll. Although this is unscientific, it hints that some Americans, at least, find the practise to be wrong.

MSNBC Poll.

However, the fact almost 40% condone such actions is very, very worrying. When will Americans stop being racist? Would 40% condone jailing the wife and children of a known murderer in the US? Or is it okay because it happens to someone else?
