Untitled Document Venezuelan president, Hugo Chavez, says that he has reliable information that the United States is sheltering Cuban-born terrorist Luis Posada Carriles. The Venezuelan leader has demanded a response to the extradition request presented by Caracas.

"We are waiting for a response from the White House. Now they say he is not in the United States". Chavez maintained that he has reliable evidence proving that the terrorist is hiding in Miami. The Venezuelan president was speaking in the state of Cojedes, 170 miles west of Caracas.

Hugo Chavez announced that the Supreme Court on Tuesday approved an extradition request for the notorious terrorist who is wanted for bombing a Cubana civilian airliner killing all 73 people on board on October 6th, 1976.

"Posada is one of the cruellest criminals in the region, and he boasts about it. If we are going to fight terrorism", said Chavez, " Posada Carrileshe should be arrested and sent to Caracas, where he was imprisoned and escaped in 1985, with the complicity of the then-government".

On remarks by US Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs, Roger Noriega, who called for strengthening of democratic bodies in Latin America, the leader of the Bolivarian Revolution said Washington has no right to fortify democratic entities in the region.

"That should be done by Latin American nations," he stressed.
