Of course, even if we buy the official nine eleven fairy tale, we can not avoid the obvious conclusion Atta had nothing to do with Iraq or Saddam Hussein. However, it appears likely he had something to do with the United States military, as the New York Times revealed in the days following the nine eleven attacks (and reactionaries such as Adamo never mention such facts because it does not fit into their reductionist and paranoid world-view populated by murderous Muslims tasked with the on its face absurd plan to overthrow the United States and convert Americans to Islam, a sort of demented fever dream shared by reactionary mental cases).

“Three of the men identified as the hijackers in the attacks on Tuesday have the same names as alumni of American military schools, the authorities said today. The men were identified as Mohamed Atta, Abdulaziz al-Omari and Saeed al-Ghamdi,” the New York Times reported on September 15, 2001. “The Defense Department said Mr. Atta had gone to the International Officers School at Maxwell Air Force Base in Alabama; Mr. al-Omari to the Aerospace Medical School at Brooks Air Force Base in Texas; and Mr. al-Ghamdi to the Defense Language Institute at the Presidio in Monterey, Calif.”

As for Murtha, he’s no hippie antiwar protester, as Adamo alludes. “Murtha shared President Ronald Reagan’s anti-communist views, supporting the military buildup against the then-Soviet Union along with covert aid to the Nicaraguan contras,” reports the Washington Post. “He was a strong supporter of the Persian Gulf War in 1991, and today regards it as a model for international cooperation, both diplomatically and financially [read bombing nations and killing thousands of people is a “model for international cooperation”]. He noted in an Oct. 2 C-SPAN interview that Bush’s father, President George H.W. Bush, also kept Congress well informed throughout the conflict. ‘President Bush One really did it exactly right,’ Murtha said.”

In other words, Murtha had no problem with the criminal enterprise of Iran-Contra—pulled off by the same criminals now in control of the White House and the Pentagon—and supported the illegal invasion of Iraq (100,000 Iraqi “soldiers” killed and 113,000 civilians slaughtered, according to the Red Crescent Society of Jordan). Murtha supported the intentional destruction of municipal water systems, waste material treatment and sewage disposal systems throughout Iraq. It can be assumed Murtha supported the violation of the Geneva Conventions and the laws of armed conflict, resulting in war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Jack Murtha is no antiwar peacenik. He is simply not infected with the neocon illness of total war dementia, although he does not cringe at the prospect of American imperialism and empire building. Adamo would have us believe Murtha is a liberal—and considering the degree of fascistic reaction emanating from the Arab-hating and misanthropic neocons and their supporters, the garden variety hawkishness of Murtha may actually be considered a form of liberalism.

But never mind. I am more interested in Christopher Adamo’s comment on “lead hijacker Mohamed Atta” who was “a known threat within this nation’s borders.” In addition to the New York Times, Newsweek and Knight Ridder reported on Atta’s connection to the U.S. military. “Knight Ridder’s news account was more specific. It said Mohamed Atta had attended International Officers School at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Ala. In addition, Abdulaziz Alomari had attended Aerospace Medical School at Brooks Air Force base in Texas, they reported, and Saeed Alghamdi had been to the Defense Language Institute in Monterrey, California,” according to researcher Daniel Hopsicker. “If true, these reports would have dealt a blow to the consensus portrait then emerging of the terrorist cadre as puritanical Islamic fundamentalists…. Indeed, if foreign nationals who would eventually become terrorist pilots were training at the Pensacola Naval Air Station, or going through the U.S. Air Forces’ International Officer’s School at Maxwell Air Force Base, they would most likely have had connections to Arab governments considered friendly to the United States.”

So important was Mr. Atta the CIA, Able Danger, and the Israeli “art students” followed him around.

I’m not worried about al-Zarqawi showing up on my doorstep, ready to convert me to Islam or chop off my head like he supposedly chopped off the head of Nick Berg. Of course, there is no evidence al-Zarqawi even exists, but then that’s little more than a bothersome detail for people such as Christopher Adamo.

I am concerned about “terrorists” trained at the International Officers School at Maxwell Air Force Base or the Defense Language Institute and micromanaged by various intelligence “services,” including Israelis who are supposedly prevented by law from running intel ops in this country.

I guess I’m just a liberal.
