In May 2004, Iowa television station KWWL broadcast an explosive report about the CIA and placed it online. The headline was "New Leads Implicate CIA, Government Officials In Child Prostitution Ring."

The report was about Johnny Gosch, an 11-year-old newspaper delivery boy, living in Iowa, who was kidnapped in 1982. The crime is being investigated by former New York City detective James Rothstein, who believes that child prostitution was the motive for the kidnapping. Further, the KWWL report states that Rothstein, now a private investigator, "believes the CIA was involved and tried to cover it up."

This report was taken down from the Internet by KWWL. Go here for the webpage where it used to be:

After trying to locate it with the "wayback" archive, I arrived at a webpage with this message: "We’re sorry, access...has been blocked by the site owner via robots.txt." Here is the "wayback" link:

Does this not appear to be serious cover-up effort?

In the USA, in recent years there have been other occasions in which news reports about high-level official misconduct have been made to vanish. Go here for my report about an Oklahoma television station which made disappear an explosive 9/11 report, which suggested high-level crime at the University of Oklahoma, whose president is George Tenet’s mentor David Boren:
