The "liberal" Washington Post was among the first to report that Bush has finally put a number on Iraqi dead since the U.S.-led 2003 invasion. But here's how they did it: "President Bush today stood by his decision nearly three years ago to invade Iraq, despite the fact that some 30,000 Iraqis and more than 2,000 U.S. troops have been killed." So now 30,000 is a fact? The group IraqBodyCount.org lists specifics of about 30,000 civilians killed so far, let alone the total. Other credible estimates range far higher.

Among the credible sources ignored by the Post is the underreported and baselessly derided 100,000 estimate that England's leading medical journal The Lancet published in 2004.
